Silsden goes to Africa

In 2017 we are joining with Mission Direct to take our third team from Silsden to Sierra Leone in West Africa.

The dates are 8th – 23rd April 2017

The two week trip is to help build community projects in this country of many needs.  Previous projects have included; children’s homes, hospitals, clinics and schools.

The trip is open for anyone aged 11 and over and will cost £1750 a person. The cost will include flights, visa, insurance, transport, accommodation and food and drink.

Africa2You don’t have to have a building skill to join the team, we work with local builders and you will be there to help them. Teams often make and lay bricks, paint and decorate.  In the afternoons we join community groups and organise activities for children in orphanages, help old people and run play activities for disabled children.

We will be planning some fundraising activities to raise funds to support people interested and the projects.

If you are not able to go perhaps you would consider sponsoring someone to take part in this trip.

We wil be holding an information evening on Monday May 9th at 7.30pm in The King’s Arms.

We would love to hear from you if you are interested or want to find out more.
