NEW HEATING BOILERS
are needed as the old one is 25 years old and obsolete. We need £22,000 for new boilers to heat the hall and church – PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY.
THANK YOU for your generosity – so far we have raised £17,000 comprising £10,000 from the congregation so far –
THE HARRY BEVERLEY TILLOTSON TRUST
We say thank you to Harry for his generosity and forethought in leaving a significant amount of money, in trust, to our community and from which we are now benefiting as the trustees have given us £5,000 towards out new heating boilers – THANK YOU
AND……………….. SIR GEORGE MARTIN TRUST
We say thank you to Sir George Martin, a former Mayor of Leeds, who left the residue of his estate to a trust in 1956, for the benefit of charities focused on improving the lives of people residing in West and North Yorkshire. The trust has given £1500 towards the boilers – THANK YOU
AND ………………… THE CRAVEN TRUST
We say thank you to the Craven Trust who support causes and individuals in this area who have given us £1,000 – THANK YOU
AND ………………… CO-OPERATIVE COMMUNITY CAUSES
We have been accepted as a Local Community Fund recipient – so if you shop at the Co-Op and are a member your 1% dividend can come to the church for the new heating boiler – so please do that on the Co-Op web site – we have £648 so far – THANK YOU
If you shop at the Co-Op please go to this link on Local Community Fund profile page (https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/8082/) and support St. James.
We have discovered that we must have an Asbestos Survey done for the whole building before major works can be undertaken due to the dangers of disturbing this dangerous substance. This has been carried out and we will need another £800 to pay for it – assuming they do not discover any asbestos!.
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE TO THIS APPEAL AT THE EXPENSE OF YOUR REGULAR GIVING TO CHURCH – we will not need a building if we do not cover our day to day running costs.
UPDATE AUGUST 2017
The work is being carried out!
